Among news laws taking effect on July 1st will be additional requirements to ‘move over’ for stopped vehicles on the side of the road. Effective Saturday, July 1st, motorists will be required to move over for any vehicle stopped on the roadside that has their four-way flashers activated. The law previously applied only to emergency vehicles. Fines have also been increased with $250 being assessed for a first offense, $1,000 for second and $2,500 in penalties for the third or more offenses.
