Tennessee’s Move Over Law expands on July 1st

Among news laws taking effect on July 1^st will be additional requirements to ‘move over’ for stopped vehicles on the side of the road. Effective Saturday, July 1^st, motorists will be required to move over for any vehicle stopped on the roadside that has their four-way flashers activated. The law previously applied only to emergency vehicles. Fines have also been increased with $250 being assessed for a first offense, $1,000 for second and $2,500 in penalties for the third or more offenses.
