An early morning fire has destroyed the home of a retired Crossville doctor. The Cumberland County and Crossville Fire Departments responded along with multiple other emergency agencies around 3:37am Tuesday morning (7/18/2023) to the 2400 block of Oak Drive in the Laurelwood Subdivision. The preliminary investigation indicates the blaze began in the garage but the cause has yet to be determined. Dr. “Reb” Donathan Ivey and his wife were home at the time and escaped without injury. Cumberland County Assistant Fire Chief John Hall said crews were on the scene for about 9 hours making sure the fire was completely contained.
