Sep 20, 2023 | 3:47 PM

Sheriff Steve Page has presented Lt. James Blankenship with a plaque in remembrance of K9 Reno’s service to White County and to the White County Sheriff’s Office. Reno was born on September 16, 2010, and left this world on August 18, 2023, less than a month from his 13th birthday.

Reno joined the White County Sheriff’s Department on September 10, 2012, and was Certified as a single purpose K-9 tracker in 2012. His loving and devoted Handler, Lt. James Blankenship, later had Reno certified as a dual-purpose K-9. Reno tracked down many suspects and assisted in locating and seizing illegal narcotics and cash derived from the sell of illegal drugs. Reno will be missed by everyone here at the Department and by all that cared for him.
