UPDATE! Wanted fugitive John Drake, Jr. was found deceased Tuesday night. The following is an update posted to TBI’s Facebook page:
UPDATE: After pursuing investigative leads in the search for #TNMostWanted suspect John Drake, Jr., authorities responded to a location in the 1400 block of 15th Avenue South in Nashville tonight. There, responding officers heard a muffled gunshot from an outbuilding and subsequently found Drake deceased from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. At the request of 20th Judicial District Attorney General Glenn Funk, TBI special agents will investigate Drake’s death. A full autopsy will be performed as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities are looking for a Nashville Police Chief’s son who is accused of shooting two La Verne Officers at a Dollar General just before 2:30pm Saturday. The officers were responding to a report of a stolen vehicle when John Drake, Jr. allegedly pulled a gun and shot them. La Vergne Police say one officer was shot in the shoulder, while the other was shot in the groin. Both were in stable condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
The TBI says fugitive John Drake, Jr., has been added to the TBI #TNMostWanted list. He is the son of Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake.
Drake, Jr is wanted by the TBI for two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.
There is a reward of up to $2,500 being offered for information leading to his arrest.
John Drake, Jr is a 38 -year-old black man, 5’11”, weighs 195 pounds. Drake Jr. was last seen wearing a black shirt with red lettering, gray pants and a black hat.
