Dec 10, 2023 | 11:45 AM

Officials in Nashville held a press conference Sunday morning to give an update on Saturday’s deadly tornado.  In Davidson County, the Madison area was hit hardest. At least 3 people were killed. Officials hope that number does not rise but say as they continue to sift through the rubble it is possible. At least 22 structures have collapsed with countless other structures significantly damaged.  Damage assessments are ongoing.

Nashville Electric Services says substations in Hendersonville in Sumner County and north Nashville received significant damage and 26,000 people remained without power as of 11am Sunday. Numerous power poles were also downed in those areas. Many customers in Hendersonville will be without electricity for days.

Nashville officials say there are also a lot of gas main breaks in north Nashville and they are trying to identify and secure those areas.

In Montgomery County, 3 people were killed when a tornado tore through the Clarksville area.  At least two dozen were injured.

Storm damage assessments continue across Middle Tennessee.
