Crossville and Crab Orchard are among 78 communities that will receive Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) to assist with infrastructure improvements, housing rehabilitations and health and safety initiatives. The CDBG program is funded through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Of the $36.6 million allocated statewide, Crossville will get a $630,000 ADA Greenway Trail grant to make those outdoor areas more accessible for those with physical disabilities.
Crab Orchard will receive a $200,000 Street Improvements grant.
In Putnam County, Monterey will get a Sewer System Improvements grant in the amount of $315,000.
