Tennessee lawmakers have introduced a bill that would provide teachers with a body cam emergency call device. State Senator Mark Pody (Republican-Lebanon) and State Representative Susan Lynn (Republican -Mount Juliet) sponsored the bill which will award school safety grants with a cap of $50,000 in funds per school. The device is to be worn on a lanyard and will have three buttons for different emergency situations. Once a button is pressed it will alert law enforcement and school administrators while also transmitting live video and audio.
The 113th General Assembly will reconvene at 12:00 noon (CST) on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
