Cumberland County Animal Control Officers recently rescued a litter of abandoned puppies in the woods off East Lane. Officers were dispatched to the area shortly before noon on Tuesday (2/27/24) where they located a large storage tub on its side containing a throw blanket and articles of clothing. The initial call was for 10 abandoned puppies. Officers saw 6 of them described as black and white possibly border collie puppies about 2 to 3 months old. After setting traps they were able to catch the puppies and transport them to the Cumberland County Animal Shelter.
