In regular session for March, the Crossville City Council in a 4-0 vote approved the donation of just under 40 acres to the Crossville Shooting Sports Park. The Park had requested the additional land in order to host larger events and to add archery. During last week’s work session, several residents near the park voiced opposition to the expansion citing additional noise concerns, however, Councilmember Mike Turner told council that he had spent about 3 and a half hours in the area during active shooting, and did not hear what others had reported. “I only heard mostly the roar of the Interstate,” Turner said. Council approved the donation pending the approval of the contract by the City Attorney and the City’s engineer.
