DRUG ARREST AT CROSSVILLE MOTEL
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN – On April 20, 2024, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office deputies, in collaboration with Crossville Police Department, made a significant drug arrest at the Red Roof parking lot located at 105 Executive Dr. in Crossville, TN.
While on patrol, a Sheriff’s Deputy observed a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox parked between a Semi-trailer and a U-Haul truck with two individuals, Joseph Lynch (37) and Shanna Lynch (37), asleep in the back of the vehicle. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy noticed suspicious behavior and initiated contact with the individuals.
Further investigation revealed that Shanna Lynch had an active warrant out of Maury County for Failure to Appear, and Joseph Lynch had a suspended driver’s license. Shanna Lynch was placed under arrest, and during the interaction, a state probation card was found in her possession.
Upon requesting consent to search the vehicle, Joseph Lynch denied consent, exhibiting behaviors indicative of possible criminal activity. Crossville City Police K-9 unit arrived on the scene to assist. The K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, leading to the discovery of two vacuum-sealed packages one weighing 1.21 pounds field tested positive for Crack Cocaine, and another weighing 1.92 pounds field tested positive for Heroin.
Joseph Lynch attempted to flee upon realizing the K-9’s alert but was detained by Sheriff’s deputies. Both suspects were transported to Cumberland County Jail without incident. The narcotics seized from the vehicle will be sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for further analysis. (Photo courtesy CCSO)
