According to Tennessee Athletics, Tennessee was well-represented on the American Baseball Coaches Association Southeast All-Region Teams with a program-record tying seven players earning recognition.

The Vols led all schools with five first-team selections as Christian Moore (2B), Blake Burke (1B), Drew Beam (SP), AJ Causey (SP) and Nate Snead (RP) all garnered ABCA All-Region honors. Outfielders Dylan Dreiling and Kavares Tears were first-time selections, as well, receiving second-team accolades.

UT’s seven all-region honorees ties the program record set by the 2022 team, which boasted six first-team picks.

Of this year’s group, only Beam had received all-region honors before, doing so as a freshman in 2022.

No. 1 national seed Tennessee enters this year’s CWS leading the country with 173 home runs, a mark that ranks second in NCAA Division I history. Moore, Burke, Dreiling and Tears have played a major role in that department, having combined to hit 89 of the team’s 173 long balls this season with all four having hit 18 or more round trippers.

Due in large part to Beam, Causey and Snead, UT also ranks among the national leaders in a handful of pitching categories including ERA (3.83 – 3rd), strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.41 – 2nd), WHIP (1.23 – 2nd) and walks allowed per nine innings (2.96 – 4th). The aforementioned trio has combined for 30 of the team’s 55 victories this season.

The Big Orange open their College World Series slate on Friday night at 6 p.m. on ESPN against No. 8 national seed Florida State at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.
