Cumberland County Sheriff’s Investigators have assisted the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office in the arrest of a suspect in the cold case murder of a Louisiana woman.
On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Judith “Judy” Weiser was taken into custody in Tennessee with the assistance of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Her alleged accomplice, Russell Lee, was apprehended on July 9 in Missouri with the help of the Mountain Grove Police Department.
The victim, 22-year-old Paula Boudreaux, was reported missing in 1986. In January 1989, skeletal remains were found in Slidell, Louisiana, which could not be properly identified at the time.
In January 2023, the remains were identified as Boudreaux. Detectives in Louisiana re-opened the old case and learned Lee was in relationships with both Boudreaux and Weiser at the time of Boudreaux’s murder. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office says investigators concluded that Lee and Weiser allegedly killed Boudreaux, dismembered her body and dumped the remains in Slidell.
Both Lee and Weiser have been charged with second degree murder and obstruction of justice. They will be transported and booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex. Bail is set at $1.1 million each. (Photos courtesy CCSO Facebook. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.)
