The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Daymon Circle around 1am Friday after someone allegedly set a vehicle on fire. According to reports, the victim’s son had walked out of the house and saw a truck on fire. Another man at the home grabbed a hose and put the fire out. The man also noticed something burning roughly twenty feet away in the yard, which was believed to be a gas jug.
The truck has reportedly been sitting in the yard for well over a year with a blown engine. The Deputy discovered a burn pattern consistent with arson on the driver’s side of the truck bed as well as a yellow plastic nozzle to a gas jug, partially melted under the fuel door. Investigator Sarah Smith was notified. County Fire also completed a fire report on scene.
