NCAA Men’s & Women’s Basketball Rankings

It’s the middle of October which means College Basketball will be getting underway shorty. While the Vols and Lady Vols prepare for the upcoming season they found out where they will be ranked with the AP Top 25 Preseason Rankings.

Rick Barnes and his Volunteers, coming off of a regular season SEC Championship and a trip to the Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament, will start the 2024-25 season ranked 12th in the nation. Other notable teams ranked in the preseason polls include: #1 Kansas, #2 Alabama, #3 UConn, #6 Gonzaga, #7 Duke, #9 North Carolina, #14 Purdue, #16 Arkansas, #21 Florida, and #23 Kentucky. #12 Tennessee starts the their season on November 4th as they host Gardner-Webb in Knoxville.

The Lady Vols will be lead by a new coach this season in Kim Caldwell. Coach Caldwell and her Lady Vols will start in unfamiliar territory as the legendary team will be unranked heading in the the 2024-25 season. Tennessee only received 3 votes to be in the Top 25. Other notable teams in the Women’s Top 25 include: #1 South Carolina, #2 UConn, #7 LSU, #21 Creighton, #22 Kentucky, #24 Alabama, and #25 Indiana. The Lady Vols will begin the Kim Caldwell era on November 5th with their season opener against Samford in Knoxville.
