A Nashville man was arrested after allegedly causing a disturbance at the Crossville Waffle House. Police were dispatched to the location in reference to 24-year-old Xavier Lamont Pate inside the business smoking, throwing chairs and not letting customers leave by lying on their vehicles.
As Detective John Tollett was speaking with the suspect, Sergeant Keith Sadula arrived on the scene and that’s when Mr. Pate grabbed his belongings and ran. He attempted to get in both officers’ vehicles. As he was being subdued, Pate reportedly tried to grab Sergent Sadula’s firearm.
After he was handcuffed, Pate said a guy he met at 7-Eleven gave him something to smoke and caused him to get high. He also stated that he had just had just got out of prison and a Morgan County Deputy dropped him off at the bus station. He was transported to intake for booking.
