A clerk at the Peacock Market on 127 North in Crossville reported receiving a fake $100 bill. According to City Police, the clerk advised that a male subject that she knows only as “Chuck” asked for change for a $100 bill to play on the coin machines. She stated that she thought the bill felt and looked odd, but she gave him the change anyway since Chuck regularly stopped in to play the machines. She later realized that the bill was fake and that she had to reimburse the business out of her own pocket.  The suspect, who has not returned to the store since the incident, is described as a white male with white hair, approximately 50-65 years old and between 5’4” and 5’6”, driving a gold van with Georgia tags.
