It was a split weekend for the Vols and Lady Vols Basketball teams as they both headed west for road conference games. Saturday the 4th ranked Tennessee Volunteers traveled to Norman to take on the Oklahoma Sooners where Rick Barnes and his squad picked up their 20th win of the season routing Oklahoma 70-52. Sunday it was the Lady Vols turn with a road trip to Baton Rouge to take on #6 LSU. For the 6th time this season the Lady Vols fell in an other close one with LSU winning 82-77.
For the Vols Chaz Lanier seems to be back to his old way putting up 21 points the most of any Vol. Jalon Moore led the way for the Sooners in points with 12. The Lady Vols had 4 players in double digits in their losing effort. Ruby Whitehorn had the most with 21 points. LSU was led in scoring by Mikaylah Williams who scored 16 points.
The Vols are back on Tuesday with another road trip playing in Lexington against rival Kentucky. Th Lady Vols will return to Rocky Top on Thursday with a against the Auburn Tigers.
