Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster reported in his February edition of Mayor’s Notes that the Cumberland County Codes Department had collected over $26,000 in permit fees for the month of January. In all for the month, the department issued 20 building permits, 21 mechanical permits and 20 plumbing permits. EMS collections were at $2.4 million for the year to date, about $193,000 below projections. Foster said there are some billing issues that are contributing to the shortfall and expects to be on target to the annual budget once that is resolved. Foster also reported sales tax collections for the Cumberland County Board of Education were at $1.3 million for the latest period, property tax collections were at 67.01 percent and Hotel/Motel tax revenue is at $665,000 for the year, which is about 53% of the projected annual income of $1.3 million.
