Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter has announced that the Cookeville Big Lots! store will be re-opening.
In December, the discount retailer announced it was closing all stores nationwide after filing for bankruptcy.
However, Variety Wholesalers purchased several hundred of the stores recently and the Cookeville Big Lots! was one of several chosen to remain open. Mayor Porter said that the Cookville store will close in March for restocking and updating, then a re-opening date will be set soon after that.
The manager for Rockwood’s Big Lots! said they were notified last Thursday that their store will also re-open in early June after closing on March 17th.
Unfortunately it appears that once Crossville’s Big Lots! shut its doors they will remain closed.
