Seven Tennessee Schools to Play in NCAA March Madness

The NCAA Men’s & Women’s basketball tournaments start this week and each field of 68 see a slew of Tennessee schools vying for their chance at a National Championship.

Revealed Sunday afternoon the Men’s tournament will have four schools from the Volunteer state with the highest seeded Tennessee Volunteers leading the way. The Memphis Tigers will be a five seed after winning the AAC Tournament Championship. Nashville will be well represented as Vanderbilt and Lipscomb make the tournament field.

The Women’s tournament will see three schools from Tennessee play in their respective tournament. The Lady Vols will have the highest seed among the three. They also continue to make history as they become the only program to make all 43 NCAA Tournaments. Vanderbilt will be a single digit seed this year and finally Cookeville will be dancing in March as well. Tennessee Tech has made their third tournament in the past four seasons. The Golden Eagles will have a tough opener as their first round opponent is #1 South Carolina.
