A Crossville man faces a host of charges after police say he almost hit utility workers while fleeing from a traffic stop. It began Monday afternoon (March 17, 2025) on Highway 70 North shortly before 2pm when a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to pull over 32-year-old Marcus Allan Braddam for not wearing a seatbelt. The Deputy reports Braddam took off and turned down Pomona Road, reaching speeds of 85 to 90 miles per hour and nearly hitting VEC and Service Electric crews working on power lines. Braddam eventually ditched the Toyota Highlander he was driving in a field off Claysville Road and took off into the woods on foot. The vehicle was later reported stolen. Braddam’s phone was recovered from inside the vehicle and authorities tracked him to a residence on Claysville Road where he was found hiding underneath a couch. He was taken into custody and charged with Felony Reckless Endangerment, Evading Arrest, Felony Failure to Appear and Driving on a Revoked/Suspended License.
