Authorities are investigating the theft of up to $75,000 worth of jewelry

A Claysville Road resident told law enforcement that in September of last year, she entrusted a man named Chris, the owner of Platinum Jewelers of Nashville, with her jewelry for what she described as a “sale to consignment” transaction. Having done business with him before, she felt comfortable with the deal. However, after months of waiting for an itemized list of her pieces, she recently discovered that Chris’ business had shut down and his phone numbers were disconnected. After reaching out to another jeweler in Nashville, she was able to obtain a working number for him but has yet to recover her jewelry. The victim is now compiling a list of the missing items as authorities look into the matter.
