A 6-year-old boy reported missing in Cumberland County was found safe Saturday (April 5, 2025). An urgent call went out around 1:30 Saturday afternoon that the boy was missing from the Morning Star Lane area. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office reports that a video from the residence revealed the child exited the home accompanied by a golden doodle puppy at approximately 1:15 pm.
A coordinated effort was launched, involving the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Management Agency, Cumberland County Fire Department, Cumberland County Emergency Medical Services, Crossville Police Department, and the Cumberland County Rescue Squad. The rescue efforts deployed drone teams, off road vehicles and K-9 units to assist in the search.
After an intense search lasting approximately an hour and a half, the child was found safe, happily playing in a creek near his home after following the puppy.
The child was returned to his grateful mother, who expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the swift actions of the first responders.
