Copper Wire Thief Causes $5,000 Damage to U.S. Cellular Tower Site

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of copper wire and the vandalism of a U.S Cellular tower site in the 1600 block of Price Loop.

Video from the crime scene shows a white male attempting to cut a wire with a pair of red handled bolt cutters.  The male was wearing brown boots, brown pants, black jacket and a hat covered by the hood of the jacket.

The thief stole approximately 30 feet of copper wire valued at $1,000.

The cost to repair and replace the damaged fence, security cameras, a meter box, and the copper wire is estimated at $5,000.
