A man in Putnam County has been charged with trying to murder his uncle. Around 12:45pm Saturday (May 31, 2025), Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a reported stabbing that occurred near Jess Rodgers Road. The victim identified his attacker as his nephew, Daniel Jackson, who was quickly taken into custody.
During the interview, Daniel Jackson stated he believed his uncle had money that belonged to him and he wanted it back. Jackson reportedly admitted to attacking his uncle with a small knife, hitting him, as well as choking him. Jackson also admitted that he attempted to assault his uncle with a shotgun before throwing the firearm in the woods.
Daniel Jackson has been charged with:
- 1 Count of Attempted First-Degree Murder
- 1 Count of Aggravated Robbery
- 1 Count of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
He has a total bond of $1.2 Million Dollars and a court date of June 11, 2025.
