It was an up and down Monday for Tennessee fans as the Vols baseball team and Lady Vols softball team looked to advance in their respective National Tournaments.
It started Monday afternoon with the Lady Vols taking on the Texas Longhorns in the Women’s College World Series Semi-Finals. Tennessee would have had to defeat Texas twice however they were defeated the first try. A cold day at the plate for Tennessee with only 3 hits in the game and no score. The Longhorns advanced to their second straight WCWS Finals defeating UT 2-0. Lady Vols end their season with a 47-17 record.
Monday night was a pick me up for Vol fans as the defending National Championship baseball team advanced to the Super Regional defeating Wake Forest 11-5. The Vols will now be on the road for the Fayettville Super Region. Tennessee will play Arkansas in a best-of-3 series starting Saturday at 4:00 PM. The Vols and Razorbacks just had a best-of-3 weekend series back in May where Arkansas won that series 2 games to 1.
