Man at Center of Knox County BOLO Caught in Crossville

A man who allegedly evaded a Knox County traffic stop was captured in Crossville.  It happened May 29th when Crossville Police spotted the subject’s vehicle at the Car Spa on North Main Street.  Officers attempted to pull over the Chevrolet Silverado for a seat belt violation and the driver fled, running numerous stop signs. City units stopped pursuing and Cumberland County Sheriff’s units continued with the suspect truck getting onto I-40 with speeds exceeding 100 mph.  The vehicle got off the interstate at Exit 322 where his truck was spiked. He turned onto Chestnut Hill Road where an accident occurred stopping the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect was identified at 54-year-old Steven Wayne Sherrill of Pikeville. He has been charged with Reckless Endangerment, Evading Arrest and he was also busted for Driving on a Revoked/Suspended License, Expired Registration and violation of the seat belt law. He is due in court on June 23rd.
