With a Heat Advisory in effect until 7pm Friday (6/27/2025), the Tennessee Valley Authority and Volunteer Energy Cooperative are requesting the voluntary participation of their members to help reduce electrical use.
The Tennessee Valley Authority has initiated the Emergency Load Curtailment Plan (ELCP), STEP 20. Step 20 is a public appeal to members of the cooperative to temporarily reduce electrical consumption by turning off unnecessary lighting, by increasing the thermostat set point up by a few degrees, and by avoiding the use of any large appliances unless absolutely necessary. TVA does not expect there to be any rolling blackouts.
