Residents of Fairfield Glade were reunited last week with a familiar four-legged friend. Harriet, a once-stray beagle who became a local symbol of connection during the COVID-19 shutdowns, made an appearance at the Glade’s farmers market alongside her owners, Jody and Amy Farley of Crossville.
Harriet was in town to help promote Hey, Harriet!, a book by Glade Sun correspondent Keith Robinson chronicling her journey from stray to adopted pet. The pup captured hearts in 2021, spending five months evading rescue efforts before finally being brought to safety by a dedicated community.
Many stopped by to say hello, take photos, and share stories of how they followed Harriet’s journey. Copies of the book were signed at the event—complete with a Harriet paw print.
