The NBA Draft concluded on Thursday and two players from University of Tennessee heard their names called. Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier and fan favorite Jahmai Mashack were picked in the second round of this years draft.
Lanier was the 37th pick and was selected by the Detroit Pistons. Chaz will be teaming up with former Vol Tobias Harris. Mashack, who wasn’t projected to be drafted, was selected as the 59th and final pick. Jahmai will be staying in the Volunteer State as the Memphis Grizzlies picked him up.
Lanier and Mashack weren’t the only ones to go pro, former Lady Vol basketball player Jewel Spear has signed with Swedish pro team Lulea Basket. The team is located in Lulea, Sweden and plays in the Basketligan dam which is the top professional women’s basketball league in Sweden.
