I-40 near the Tennessee/North Carolina border has reopened a week earlier than expected after floods and rockslides stranded motorists and washed out a section of interstate. TDOT originally planned to complete the repairs by July 3rd but thanks to a lot of hard work, the vital stretch of road was back open on Friday (June 27).
