As the new fiscal year begins, the state of Tennessee is set to create a Centralized Immigration Enforcement Division under the Department of Safety to enhance coordination with federal immigration law. Simultaneously, harboring undocumented immigrants is now a criminal offense. On the transportation front, a new law mandates tracking arrests of sober DUI cases and limits license points for driving with a suspended license. The new law limits the points assessed to four for the offense of driving with a cancelled, suspended or revoked license.
