Semi Hits Power Line in Crab Orchard

A semi truck hit a power line on Market Street in Crab Orchard Friday afternoon.  It happened around 12:30 on July 4th.  According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, 46-year-old Elmer Nelson Weber, of Earth, Texas said he did not realize that his 2004 white Peterbilt was too tall to clear the power line.  VEC was called to remove the line from the roadway.  A meter box was damaged on a residence in the 500 block of Market Street.  No charges were filed.
