Ten (10) Tennessee 911 Communicators answered the call in North Carolina over the July 4th weekend, as Buncombe County Public Safety Communications experienced the unexpected death of one of their own. Deputy Director Brad Gass reports the members of the Tennessee Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce (TN TERT) from Unicoi, Hamilton, Hawkins, and Williamson counties deployed to support 911 operations, which gave local staff the opportunity to attend memorial services and recover. The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency says all communicators have returned home safely.
