The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and Crossville Police Department are reminding everyone that hot cars are deadly to children and pets. Even on a mild sunny day, the temperature inside a parked car can rise past 100°F in just minutes, even with the windows cracked. Never leave your child or pet alone in a parked car, even for “just a minute.” If you see a child or pet in a hot car call 911 immediately. And always check your vehicle for children and pets before you exit.
