A pickup truck was destroyed by fire Thursday morning on I-40 in Putnam County. It happened around 7:30am at the 294 eastbound mile marker. According to the THP, a 2015 Ford F150 was pulling a boat on the interstate when the driver noticed mechanical issues and pulled over onto the shoulder. The vehicle rapidly caught fire. Fortunately, the boat was detached before the truck became engulfed.
