No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash Sunday night (8/31/2025) at the eastbound 334 mile marker on I-40 in Cumberland County. It happened around 6:30pm. According to the THP, 21-year-old Jesse Dalton Grigg, of Tennessee, was driving a 2009 Mazda 3 when he attempted to merge into the left lane from the right lane and struck a tractor trailer. The Mazda then struck a 2023 Ford F-150 before it left the roadway and struck a ditch in the median and overturned. The pickup truck came to a controlled stop on the shoulder of the interstate. The tractor trailer did continued on. The THP says neither Mr. Grigg nor the driver and passenger of the Ford F-150 were injured. Grigg was charged with Due Care.
