One person was injured in a crash early this morning (Tuesday, September 02, 2025) on Highway 127 North in Fentress County. It happened around 5am near the intersection of Deer Gap Road. According to the THP, 74-year-old William Cody was driving a 1994 Chevy Astro van northbound on Highway 127 when his vehicle veered off the left shoulder of the road. Mr. Cody overcorrected and the vehicle went off the right shoulder of the road, through and iron fence, a chain link fence, and into a gas main before stopping. Mr. Cody was injured. No charges are pending.
