The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said an argument between friends led to a fatal shooting Wednesday night (9/10/2025) at a residence on McClain Road. Authorities say Nicholas Rittenberry was shot in the stomach, flown to Vanderbilt, and later succumbed to his injuries. Jordan Carper is the shooter. Authorities say at this time, the incident appears to be a self-defense shooting and no arrests have been made.
