County passes resolution expressing opposition to city EMS

Cumberland County Commissioners, in a unanimous vote, approved a resolution opposing a move by the City of Crossville to set up and operate a separate ambulance service for city residents. County commissioners are concerned that a second service for the city could disrupt county operations and could result in fewer units for the county. The Crossville City Council approved the measure in a 3-2 vote earlier this month. The matter is also on the agenda of the Cumberland County Emergency Services Committee, which is set to meet Tuesday at 4:30 at the Art Circle Public Library.
