Two men have been charged after they allegedly assaulted a convenience store employee who refused to sell them alcohol.  Crossville Police responded to the Woodmere Exxon where the victim told them 49-year-old Jose Lopez Gomez and 34-year-old Napolean Gonzales-Perez, both of Crossville, became angry after he would not sell them alcohol and asked them to leave the store.  The victim said Gomez and Gonzales-Perez began yelling and threatened to have people hurt him. Mr. Gomez allegedly grabbed the victim’s arm and a physical altercation occurred. The victim’s wife said Mr. Gonzales-Perez assaulted the victim as well and that’s when she tackled one of the males and then punched the other in defense of her husband.  Napolean Gonzales-Perez reportedly took off in a truck striking a pole in the parking lot.  Mr. Gonzales-Perez was charged with Assault and Driving Under the Influence.  The victim said he held Mr. Gomez by pushing his finger into his left eye which caused major swelling. Mr. Gomez was transported to the Cumberland County Jail and charged with Assault, Resisting Arrest and Public Intoxication.
