For the first time since 2003 the Tennessee Volunteers have defeated the Florida Gators in Gainesville. The 20th ranked Volunteers put in a perfect first half going into halftime ahead 31-0 on the Gators. Even though Tennessee wouldn’t score in the second half it would be too much for Florida with the Vols getting a win in the swamp with a final score of 31-11.
UT quarterback Joey Aguilar continued his streak of throwing 200+ yards after reaching 204 yards against the Gators and throwing 1 touchdown pass. Ethan Davis, who was filling in for an injured Myles Kittlesman, was on the receiving end of that touchdown. David had the most reception yards of any other Vol with 72. Chris Brazzell II had 53 yards off four receptions. DeSean Bishop hit the century mark as the star running back rushed for 118 yards and had 2 touchdowns Star Thomas rushed for 71 yards of nine carries and had a touchdown as well.
