The Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District (CCSWCD) recently honored Andy Carey as the 2025 Outstanding Conservation Farmer at its Annual Awards Dinner.

Andy, along with his parents Kenny and Lynn, own Hit-n-Miss Farm in the Plateau Road and Rinnie Communities of Cumberland County.

Andy participates in cost-share programs and utilizes the services of the Cumberland County Soil Conservation District, the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service to install best management practices and improve his farming operation.

He also participates in the Conservation Stewardship Program which is a program for participants that are ready for a higher level of management on their farm.

In addition to his own farming operation, Andy is the herd manager for Bullington Cattle Company in Baxter. He works very hard to be a good conservationist and steward of the land.
