The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) has awarded Justin P. Wilson Cumberland Trail State Park as its Park of the Year.
The park has made significant progress in protecting and restoring natural and cultural resources, as well as expanding access and recreational opportunities.
The park repaved the ADA-accessible trail at the Rock Creek Trailhead.
Facilities at the Head of Sequatchie Visitor Center in southern Cumberland County have been renovated with updated restrooms that have adult changing stations and wheelchair-friendly features. The Center also aquired an all-terrain wheelchair.
