The Blount County Sheriff’s Office reports investigators have charged 24-year-old Dalton Michael Bowman, of Lenoir City, in connection with the December 28th (2025) accident that claimed the life of Blount County Deputy Justin Mowery.
Bowman has been charged with evading arrest that resulted in the death of a law enforcement officer, a Class A felony. He has also been charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, simple possession of methamphetamine, driving on a suspended license and driving without a license.
He is currently being held without bond at the Loudon County Correctional Facility as he awaits a court hearing on a Loudon County warrant and will be brought to Blount County at a later time to be arraigned on these charges.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be forthcoming.
