According to a press release from 13th Judicial District Attorney General Bryant C. Dunaway, the Overton County Grand Jury has indicted 27-year-old Payton Wayne Nations on 2 counts of First Degree Murder. Nations is charged in the shooting deaths of Christina Denise Hawkins and Isaiah Thomas Hawkins. On September 14, 2025, Overton County deputies discovered the bodies of the victims outside of a residence in Rickman. Nations initially fled the scene but was later apprehended and has been held in custody since his arrest. Nations is set to be arraigned in Overton County Criminal Court on February 23, 2026.
