Crossville’s first responders had a busy start to the year. New police statistics show officers handled over twenty-seven-hundred calls in January—a significant jump from the same time last year. While calls were up, actual arrests dropped from one-hundred-thirty-five down to ninety-one. On the fire side, the department responded to one-hundred-seventy-nine incidents last month. While most were for medical emergencies, crews also battled four building fires and one vehicle fire.
