A Fairfield Glade officer is being honored with the Life Savers Award for a heroic rescue on January 27th. Officer Nikolas Brendel was on patrol in sub-zero temperatures when he discovered a confused elderly woman who had fallen and sustained injuries. He provided immediate protection from the elements and coordinated emergency care, preventing a potentially fatal case of hypothermia. The department commends Brendel’s vigilance and swift response in saving the woman’s life.
