A shooting on Arrowhead Drive in Monterey on Wednesday (3/25/2026) sent one person to Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The Monterey Police Department and Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded and secured the scene. Out of caution, Burks Elementary was placed on a soft lockdown . Authorities did not immediately say how the shooting occurred but did say there were currently no life threatening injuries. They also said there was no danger to the community.
