An arrest has been made after the body of missing person Samantha Goolsby was discovered Wednesday in a wooded area on Phy Road in Putnam County. The investigation revealed that a domestic dispute had taken place Tuesday morning (3/24/2026) that resulted the apprehension of 57-year-old Lora Morgan who confessed to shooting and killing Samantha Goolsby, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Morgan was charged with 1st Degree Murder, Abuse of a Corpse, and Fabricating/Tampering with Evidence. Lora Morgan’s bond was set at $820,000 with a court date of April 20, 2026.
